As the founder of the National Diversity Council, I would like to welcome you to the first edition of the 2016 Texas Diversity Council Newsletter. I am very proud of the work we have done so far and excited about the momentum we continue to have. The growth of our mission is apparent with the participation in the Women in Leadership Symposiums and the Texas Diversity Conference. We look forward to continuing these knowledge-laden events in both of these new markets, and furthering the creation of a diverse work environment, where people from all walks of life will be able to share their fresh perspectives and viewpoints.

The event was well attended with the panel session format geared toward the discussion of topics facing women as they seek and achieved higher positions within the organizations.
We invite you to join us at our 12th Annual Diversity and Leadership Conference. We are excited to host the conference in Houston again this year. I have participated in every Texas Conference since the first one in San Antonio in 2005. Year after year I am impressed by the quality of the sessions, the speakers and the enthusiasm of the participants. I always learn something new and meet people who expand my perspective.
