While some gains have been made in regards to increasing diversity in the field of healthcare management, recent studies continue to suggest that there is still ample room for improvement. A combination of factors, including emphasis on simply focusing on numeric goals and compliance with existing regulatory requirements, has given rise to the loss of an ethical and moral basis for why diversity and and cultural competence should be embraced as a core business strategy. The Texas Diversity Healthcare Council (TXDHC aims to provide dialogue and awareness to builds an organizational culture and workforce that is culturally competent and inclusive.
