"Based on the 2008 Glass Ceiling Study, it is clear that women are significantly underrepresented in both the C-Suites and Corporate Boardrooms of Texas corporations. To Deconstruct the Texas Glass Ceiling, it will require the efforts of the entire Community of Texas. As a community, we have both the opportunity and the responsibility to challenge the current status quo of excluding women from leadership roles. In order for Texas to maximize its human capital, women must be included at all levels. This can only be done when corporate leaders remove “artificial barriers” that limit the opportunities for women to advance. The Texas Glass Ceiling Summit is our first step at initiating change.
